Our client is a leading ecommerce business based in the Boston area. They are looking for a Senior Web Search Site Analyst to be part of their growing Global Site Analytics team. This role will be responsible for tracking, reporting, and analyzing web site data related to organic search engine traffic to advance their understanding of the behavior of visitors and customers on their web sites and how to optimize site design, content, campaigns, and sales. This position will partner with internal departments to define, develop, and deliver site reporting and analysis that informs strategic and tactical decision-making related to their site, products, marketing, sales, research, and overall business efforts. Essential Functions: Consult and partner with Sales, Product, Marketing, Business, and Research groups to define and develop SEO reporting and analysis based on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics in order to optimize product offerings, marketing campaigns, site content and functionality, and sales and marketing efforts. Drive business decision-making by educating and informing internal customers on web metrics -terminology, concepts, trends, insights, and recommendations. Define and manage research and analysis in order to create data-driven insights about search engine visitor behavior from website data on traffic patterns, order volume, conversion funnel, navigation behavior, pathing, and product selection for US and international web sites. Function as one of the technical and business owners of the Web Analytics tool, serving as liaison to technology and business staff. Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve web site effectiveness by drilling into click stream data in order to further profitability and growth. Analyze the impact of search engine traffic against business goals,. Maintain dashboards and general SEO reporting activities across 26 countries. Develop best practice approaches for analyzing user behavior on the web site(s), for configuring web analytics technology, and for interpreting data. Participate in web site projects as a measurement and analytics expert, identifying reporting requirements, monitoring the reporting implementation, and evaluating post-launch metrics. Contribute to the product definition, functional requirements, and technical design process to ensure analytics requirements are understood, documented, and built into systems. Share research findings and best practices with key stakeholders including product, eCommerce, sales, marketing, and research teams. Communicate effectively to a diverse and varying knowledge base about the impact of site developments. Conduct ad-hoc traffic analysis of key areas of the site. Participate in additional business intelligence activities related to data analysis, as needed. Stay up to date on latest industry developments for commerce and relevant industry related sites and provide related insights appropriate to our business. Integrating and correlating advertising agency reports related to SEO; forecasting benefit and ROI of SEO projects; tracking SEO project timelines and milestones; recommending and maintaining tools and reports for monitoring SEO and SEM activity; and maintaining an SEO best practices knowledge base. |
| Qualifications |
BA or BS with strong analytical skills.
Must have experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent.
Basic-level SQL skills required.
1-3 years Web Analytics experience, especially eCommerce site experience, preferred.
1-3 years experience with Web Analytics tools preferred (WebTrends, Omniture, Unica, Coremetrics, and so on.)
Campaign management experience preferred.
Experience with multivariate or AB (split) testing.
Experience with syndicated marketing research tools preferred (MediaMetrix, NetRatings, and so on.)
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Access
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency with SEO tools (Web Position Gold, Maximine, KeywordDiscovery, KeywordMax, WordTracker) a plus |
