Our client is a fast-growing leader in integrated marketing and advertising solutions.  They are looking for a seasoned Vice President/Account Director of Direct Digital Marketing to run a major new client. 

The client’s business includes a lot of highly complex and integrated display, paid search, and organic search campaigns. This person will directly oversee the performance of a digital marketing team accountable for high-volume customer acquisition. In addition to managing the team, this person will also manage the client relationship. A high orientation for performance, a high attention to detail, and complete immersion in the performance data associated with the client’s business is required.  The position reports directly to the agency Principals.

The agency has strong roots in interactive marketing and introducing interactivity across new and emerging media channels to help their clients achieve marketing and sales goals.  They possess expertise in strategic marketing planning, creative services, interactive marketing, website design and development as well as direct and database marketing.  Their strategies are often planned and executed across multiple online channels.

The VP/Account Director will assume chief responsibility for managing a team of SEM analysts and display media professionals working on a large and complex customer acquisition account. The VP/Account Director will serve as the primary point of contact for the client and should demonstrate exceptional client relationship skills as well as full knowledge of digital direct marketing and media optimization. The ideal candidate will be a true digital direct marketing practitioner and will have significant experience running large accounts for a major agency. Comprehensive knowledge of all facets of SEM and acquisition oriented display media is essential. Demonstrated thought leadership and industry recognition would be a major plus.

Key Responsibilities:

First point of contact for our client for anything to do with the strategic and operational aspects of our account

Responsible for managing the performance goals of the account

Establish and maintain a strong relationship with the client through a complete mastery of their business and consistent demonstration of thought leadership

Develop and maintain ongoing client and vendor relationships; meet with industry representatives as needed to stay abreast of recent developments and opportunities

Continually leverage new tools and industry best practices to ensure peak performance

Manage team of high caliber creative, media, and search professionals to ensure attainment of account and agency goals

Monitor campaign results, analyze key metrics, and help sell optimization and improvement recommendations to the client

Manage status, scheduled and adhoc client communications

Manage forecasting and budget review process with the client

Lead weekly/monthly/quarterly account campaign performance reviews in onsite/offsite meetings with client (the client is located primarily in NY)

Identify new agency opportunities with this client

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred

Large agency account experience and/or demonstrated industry thought leadership a plus

Minimum 7-10 years experience in digital marketing with comprehensive understanding of acquisition marketing

Experience with large, complex search engine marketing (SEM) and display campaigns; detailed knowledge of SEM strategies and tactics and display optimization techniques a MUST

Experienced in gathering insights from multiple data sources and making informed decisions to improve performance of Cost-per-Acquisition based campaigns

Knowledge of industry research tools including Hitwise, Comscore, AdGooroo and Omniture and/or Google Analytics
Experience with managing large scale performance based ppc campaigns on enterprise level ppc management platforms

Direct experience managing the integrated optimization of paid search, display banner, and seo

Direct experience with integrating data within Omniture from multiple sources

Stellar organizational skills, time management and attention to detail

Excellent communicator, both written and verbal

Mastery of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Strong hands-on experience and a desire to act as an individual contributor

Strong ability to think independently and creatively to translate business requirements

Ability to multi-task and deliver objectives consistently
Compensation $150,000 - $175,000
