Linux Team Lead

Our client is an international technology company (UK-based) with some of the leading data platforms in the marketplace. Their customer data platform, data management tools and fraud prevention technologies are best-in-class.
They are currently seeking a Linux Team Lead that will report to their Head of Customer Delivery. As the Linux Team Lead you will manage a team of Linux Engineers in the US, UK, and India supporting large scale hosted and on-premises managed services environments. You must be a motivated, client-focused professional with excellent communication skills, who has experience managing a team and able to adapt to the various nuances that come with working in multiple regions. Together with the other members of the support team, you will need to take ownership, troubleshoot, and resolve direct and indirect client support requests in a timely and professional manner.
As a team leader, you need to show guidance and best practices to the team, and mentor them to develop successfully in their roles including various line management tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the Linux engineering team and develop/support the delivery of the best-in-class solutions.
Provide technical leadership in implementing best practices and driving standards with the team.
Lead the team and mentor/coach them to perform to the best of their abilities.
Linux platform administration and lifecycle management.
Deployment and automation of applications using Puppet Enterprise.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve server events and user incidents.
Work with the wider infrastructure team to provide support.
Engage in detailed planning, change control and thorough testing to ensure performance, availability, and stability.
Keep systems secure via system hardening, patching, vulnerability threat management and mitigation.
Manage and deploy system monitoring and management tools.
Create and maintain clear and accurate system documentation.
Communicate the services to external business customers.
Available to participate in 2nd/3rd line support out of standard business hours.
Experience/Skills desired, but not essential:
Experience LDAP, SSSD and Kerberos
Understanding of OpenShift, Containers & Kubernetes environments.
Understanding agile practices and devops culture.
Understanding of common web application architectures.
