Committed to expanding the global presence of their software brand, the US-based Public Relations Specialist, reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing, and working closely with the entire software leadership team and department heads will help build a strategy and execute a cohesive public relations plan for software subsidiary.
The Public Relations Specialist is an experienced PR professional, preferably with global experience in markets including the US, UK, Ireland and EMEA, with SaaS organizations. This individual excels at the formation and execution of strategic, creative PR initiatives and understands the importance of media relations and quality coverage for brand growth.
This role requires a proven track record of proactive media outreach and placement, story mining and analyst relations. The Public Relations Specialist will actively pursue opportunities to raise the profiles of executives and thought leaders while positioning the company for optimal brand awareness and growth.
Responsibilities include:
Be an integral player within the marketing team, working within the department and beyond to constantly identify press-worthy opportunities
Create content and relevant, unique story angles to generate greater awareness around product offerings, new features, competitive insight, etc. through press releases, media pitches, etc.
Utilize storytelling and pitching skills to secure coverage across earned media including broadcast, print, and digital media outlets, as well as influencer media such as podcasts and blogs
Network, build and maintain relationships with industry and media contacts
Create and pitch bylines to industry publications, journalists and influencers
Write press releases and disseminate via Cision/PRWire
Seek speaking opportunities at conferences, panel and forum discussions and media interviews for company thought leaders, working directly with the Vice President of Marketing and Head of Brand to ensure message and brand cohesion
Seek company and employee award nominations to increase brand visibility
Develop and drive profile-building initiatives for department heads and senior executives
Manage and coordinate UK financial public relations, including PSRs and work with the CFO on investor-relations strategy and execution
Assist the team to develop and execute an analyst program to drive relationships with key industry analysts through inquiries and briefings resulting in visibility and coverage in industry reports
Support the Head of Demand Generation in social media efforts
Support partner-based public relations efforts
Evaluate competitors and devise counterstrategies related to public relations and awareness
Track and analyze performance metrics to measure the impact of initiatives and optimize collaborations and programs across all channels
Qualifications:
4-year college degree or equivalent experience in public relations, marketing, communications, copywriting or related function
3-5+ years of experience providing value as a high-performing B2B public relations professional
Experience supporting Enterprise software sales preferably in an in-house capacity
Experience in effectively weaving partner brands into public relations strategy to maximize brand exposure and relevance
Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills
Excellent time management skills
Superb critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work as a team across the marketing department and all functions of the business
Desire to move quickly and be willing to pivot based on market conditions
