Senior Director - Product Owner - WebMD/Medscape

Medscape (a division of WebMD) is looking to hire a Senior Director as their Next Best Engagement product owner. This role reports to their SVP Marketing Sciences. It is a leadership role, overseeing a team of 5 initially that will be responsible for consulting with external clients and internal stakeholders to build out the “next best” capabilities in the US. Eventually the product owner will take the capability global.
The team will work in an Agile model in the development, deployment and continual enhancement of Medscape’s Next Best Engagement omni-channel capability. The product owner will work with cross-functional internal resources and manage key 3rd party partnerships.
They will drive the continuous improvement of the capability by representing the customer and business user needs, defining problems and developing solutions to enhance the capability.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage 5+ direct reports and work as a key contributor in various business development initiatives.
Take ownership (i.e. defining, operationalizing and augmenting) of foundational and strategic capabilities
Assist in the development of value-driven marketing campaigns for Medscape’s most strategic accounts leveraging NBE product capabilities
Providing oversight and hands-on management to strategic deals throughout their life cycle across pre-sale, post-sale execution and measurement, and renewal stages
Develop triggered marketing (e.g. Next Best Action) capabilities, as well as Performance Guaranteed Programs and Audience Targeting & Segmentation.
Partner with Sales and Management teams on various business development initiatives such as:
*Introducing new solutions to the market
*Establishing strategic partnerships with new or existing clients
Develop sound understanding of Medscape’s product portfolio, historical performance according to various therapeutic categories and audience segments, promotional impact measurement methodology, and data capabilities of various analytics partners
Tackle complex and ambiguous problems with a strategic and entrepreneurial mindset
Create recommendations and action plans for solving problems
Requirements:
10+ years relevant experience
Expertise in developing data products for the healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech or med device industries
Experience implementing and utilizing product development methodologies
Outstanding analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
High energy, disciplined self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and proven leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to clients, partners, and stakeholders
Experience in digital healthcare marketing is considered a plus, but it is not required
Experience with NBE/NBA offerings is considered a strong plus, but it is not required
